2027 Submissions are open!

Submissions for the 2027 Environmental Film Festival are now open! The festival will take place April 1-3, 2027 in New Haven, Connecticut.

Since 2008, the Environmental Film Festival at Yale (EFFY) has been America’s premier student-run film festival dedicated to telling stories that reflect environmental themes. We welcome a diverse range of voices and stories that explore the intersections of environment, society, justice, and the human experience. EFFY accepts entries on FilmFreeway, the world's #1 way to enter film festivals and creative contests.

Submission Fees range from $10-$25 depending on the film type and when it is submitted. There is a discount in submission fees if submitted by the Earlybird deadline. EFFY strives to be open to all filmmakers and storytellers, and we do not want our submission fee to pose a financial barrier. If you have any challenge with the submission fee please email effy@yale.edu.
